Two Dead in Sumter County Crash

BELLEVIEW, Fla – A Belleview man and woman have been reported dead in a single vehicle accident on County Road 209 just before 1 a.m Saturday, October 14.

According to the accident report released by the Florida Highway Patrol, Courtney Turner, 39, of Belleview was traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on County Road 209. Turner’s vehicle went off the outside edge of the road, and Turner is reported to have over-corrected to the left. This over-correction resulted in the driver losing control of the vehicle, which then went off the highway onto the west shoulder of the road, where it collided with a tree, rotated, and finally came to a stop on the road.

Courtney Turner was reported dead at the scene. Turner’s passenger, 39-year-old Nakia Morris of Belleview, was also reported to have died at the scene.

Both occupants of the vehicle were restrained in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Any substance involved in the crash is currently unknown.
