Two Bodies Found at Home in The Villages

THE VILLAGES — A crime scene van sat outside of a home in the Village of Santo Domingo for several hours on Saturday.

A couple of nearby neighbors reported that two bodies were removed from the home on two gurneys.

In addition to the crime scene van, The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office was noted to be on the scene.

According to public records, the home was purchased in 2002 by Harold and Mary Kathleen Herland.

Regarding the deceased, the Sumter County voter records show that Harold Herland was ninety-three, and his wife Mary Herland was eighty-seven.
