Three Injured in Overnight Crash

DADE CITY, Fla – Three people were left seriously injured after a motorcycle collided with a bicycle during the late night hours of October 24.

Matthew Ashmore, 33 of Wesley Chapel, and his passenger, Leslie Groover (24, of New Port Richey), were traveling east on Lock Street on a 2002 Suzuki when a bicycle entered their path from the southeast. The front end of the motorcycle struck the bicycle at that point.

The rider of the bicycle, 57 year old Archee Taylor of Dade City, was airlifted to St Joseph’s Hospital with serious injuries. Taylor was reportedly not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

Matthew Ashmore was airlifted to LMRC with serious injuries. Leslie Grooves was taken via ambulance to LRMC as well, also with reportedly serious injuries.

Both driver and passenger of the motorcycle were reported to be wearing helmets at the time.

No charges are currently pending, and no substances were found to be involved in the cause of the accident.
