Sumter Deputies Search for WalMart Shoplifter

THE VILLAGES, Fla. – The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office is seeking help in finding a suspect who they believe is responsible for shoplifting merchandise from a WalMart store located on Wedgewood Lane in The Villages on November 10.

Deputies posted photos taken from the surveillance footage at the store’s customer service desk of the man who they believe walked out without paying for approximately $50 worth of merchandise.

According to the post, the suspect entered the store just after 2 p.m. last Friday wearing a red shirt and red Tampa Bay Buccaneers ball cap. The suspect allegedly removed an APP-Controlled LED Smart lighting kit from its package and concealed it before walking out of the store without paying.

One witness told deputies the suspect had a teardrop tattoo under his right eye.

Surveillance footage shows the suspect leaving the parking lot in a red Dodge Avenger.

Anyone with information on the above-pictured suspect’s whereabouts is asked to contact Sumter County Sheriff’s Detective Justin Street at (352) 689-4612 or Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS(8477).
