Stolen Vehicle Involved in WalMart Shooting Found Abandoned

LEESBURG – The vehicle used in a fatal shooting in the WalMart parking lot Monday night has been recovered by Lake County Deputies.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a tip on Wednesday that the vehicle seen fleeing the scene after a fatal shooting at WalMart was parked behind an abandoned house in the area of Whitney Road and Veech Road in Leesburg, according to Lt. John Herrell.

Detectives secured the vehicle and are processing it for evidence.

Lt. Herrell also stated that an autopsy has been completed on Mark Allen Estes and the cause of death has been confirmed as a gunshot wound.

No further information has been released at this time. Detectives are still investigating and more information will be released when it is available.
