LEESBURG – Police are currently searching the area near Leesburg High School on US Highway 27 for at least one suspect after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting gunshots.
According to Lt. Iozzi of the Leesburg Police Department, Detectives are on the scene talking to witnesses. Witnesses stated that everyone involved in the incident fled the scene before police arrived.
Many residents posted on a local Leesburg group stating they heard the shots. One Facebook user stated she hear the shots, then saw to “young black males” running from the scene and one appeared to have a gun in his hand.
Some Leesburg High School Students were at the school for baseball and cheerleading practice. According to officials, the school was placed on lockdown while police search the area.
According to Lt. Iozzi, there have been no injuries reported at this time, however, since multiple parties fled the scene, it is hard to tell at this time.
