LEESBURG – The two victims involved in a late night shooting in Leesburg Sunday night have been identified.
According to an Investigative Report from the Leesburg Police, officers responded to 916 Stinson Street near Carver Heights in reference to a shooting.
Leesburg Police Cpl. Whitley arrived on scene first to find one victim, identified as 22-year-old Anfernee Giovanni Clark, with a gunshot wound to his left knee.
According to the report, Clark was walked to the roadway from James Street by family members to meet with officers.
When asked, Clark told officers he did not know who the shooter was.
While on scene, officers were informed of a second victim located on Stinson Street, identified as 20-year-old Michael Solomon, who suffered from one gunshot wound to his abdomen and one to his right shoulder.
Clark was transorted to a trauma center by ground while Solomon was transported by air.
During the investigation, officers found what appears to be the scene of the crime located at 924 Stinson Street in front of Apartment C.
At the scene, officers found several shell casings on the ground. Blood was also found in front of another residence located at 916 Stinson Street.
The scene was secured with caution tape until Cpl. Robinson and Detective Venta arrived on scene to investigate.
While officers and detectives were working the scene, a witness approached officers and informed them that she received a call earlier that evening stating that “boys from Beecher Street were going to shoot up her residence”, according to the report.
Detectives also found another shell casing and broken glass at another scene. The scene was secured and Lake County Sheriff’s Office CSI Unit responded to assist in processing both scenes.
According to Lt. Joe Iozzi of the Leesburg Police Department, no suspects have been arrested in this case and the incident is still under investigation.
