Police Seek Information on Suspect Possibly Involved With Mulitple Burglaries

LEESBURG, Fla. — Leesburg Police officers are seeking information on a suspect they believe may be involved with multiple burglaries in the area.

According to a post on their Facebook page, Leesburg Police responded to an “in-progress” burglary on Perkins Street Friday night.

Upon arrival, K9 Officer Herrero located 38-year-old Eric Ernest Marasco who refused to obey any commands and fled the area on foot.

Officer Herrero then released his K9 partner, “Banner”, and together they were able to successfully capture Marasco after a brief chase.

Marasco was charged with auto burglary, resisting arrest, and possession of marijuana.

He was transported to the Lake County Jail where he remains in lieu of a $7,000 bond.

Officers believe Marasco may be involved with other burglaries that have occurred in the area and are asking anyone with information on him or any crimes he may have committed to contact the Criminal Investigations Division of the Leesburg Police Department at (352) 728-9862.
