One Injured in Ocala Walmart Shooting

OCALA — Approximately mid-day on Saturday, Walmart on 40 East near Silver Springs was evacuated due to a shooting.

Sources say that one gunman entered Walmart through the garden center and pulled out a gun inside of the store.

Five rounds were fired following a verbal altercation, and one person was injured before the gunman fled the scene.

Walmart was immediately evacuated and the intersection of 40 and baseline was closed as police officers arrived.

One person has been transported for medical treatment.

Police have advised to avoid the area as the investigation continues.
