POLK COUNTY, Fla. — A Mount Dora man was pronounced dead after an accident that occurred in Polk County on State Road 570 according to Florida Highway Patrol reports.

33-year-old Raymundo Centeno was reportedly driving westbound in the eastbound lanes in a 2015 Smart near mile marker 14 at approximately 2:28 a.m. when he struck a 2008 Dodge Charger head-on.

The accident caused officials to close SR 570 for several hours as responders cleared the area.

The driver of the charger, 29-year-old Mikolaycak Milorme of Winter Haven was transported to Lakeland Regional Medical Center where he was listed in serious condition.

Centeno was also transported to Lakeland Regional Medical Center where he later died as a result of his injuries sustained in the collision.

The report indicates that both drivers were not wearing their seatbelt at the time of the incident.

Results of a blood test to determine if alcohol was involved are still pending.
