Leesburg Police Detain Person of Interest in Monday Night Shooting

LEESBURG —  Leesburg police announced that they have detained a “person of interest” in connection with the officer involved shooting that occurred Monday night.

According to Leesburg’s Lt. Joe Iozzi, detectives detained the possible suspect at approximately 1:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

Police are currently investigating the individual who has not yet been identified and detectives are processing other evidence in the meantime.

Iozzi stated the investigation is still currently open and more information will be provided as it is released.
