Woman on Bicycle Airlifted to Hospital after Being Struck by Pickup Truck

LEESBURG – Traffic was backed up for a while as Fruitland Park and Leesburg Police investigated the scene of an accident where a pickup truck struck a woman on a bicycle.

According to Leesburg Police, a woman was struck by a Dodge Ram pickup truck while trying to cross Highway 27 in Leesburg in front of the Aldi’s shopping center.

Although no official statement has been released by officials, we were able to confirm that the woman was airlifted to Ocala Regional Medical Center following the accident. Her condition is still unknown.

Police are still investigating the scene and will be releasing information once it is available.
