LEESBURG – The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is still looking for the tenth suspect in a drug smuggling scheme at Lake County Jail. Earlier this week nine people were arrested, including a Tavares teacher’s aide,  and the daughter of a local  candidate for Sheriff. Several were already incarcerated, including a suspect in a local homicide case.
LCSO Officials are actively seeking the whereabouts of Fabian Sanchez. His last known address was in Monteverde, however, he is believed to be in the Leesburg area. Â Sanchez is wanted for solicitation to introduce contraband into a county detention facility.
Arrested and charged were: Scott Beekman, Lance Hanson, Jesse Hall Clifton Crews, Steven Belisle, Â Jasmic Holden,and Jacqueline Brown. Also arrested was Christine Obregon, daughter of Andres Obregon, a former sheriff’s deputy and border patrol agent, who is on the August 30 primary ballot for Lake County Sheriff. Â David Mariotti , already incarcerated, was also charged. He is currently a suspect in the disappearance of Bernadine Montgomery of Leesburg. Â Her body has still not been found. Sheriff’s officials say many of those arrested have long criminal records.
