Lake Minneola High Student Dead After Shooting Himself

MINNEOLA, Fla. – A student at Lake Minneola High School was pronounced dead after he took his life this morning according to Lake County School’s spokeswoman Sherri Owens.

Owens stated that the boy shot himself early Tuesday morning in the area where school buses load and unload known as the “bus loop”.

Lake Minneola High School and other surrounding schools remained on lockdown after the incident while investigators cleared the scene.

Grief and crisis counselors are being provided to all the students to help any who may have been affected by the incident.

Officials have not yet identified the victim and have not released any information on the weapon used.

Investigators are still on scene investigating and more information will be released as it is available.
