TAVARES, Fla.  — A Lake County jail inmate has died from what officials said was a suicide with a bed sheet.

Lake County sheriff’s officials reported Monday that 23-year-old Tyler R. Mraz, who was arrested Sept. 19, was found unconscious in his cell the next morning.

“He died Sunday night in the hospital,” Lt. John Herrell said Monday in a prepared statement.

Herrell added Mraz had been arrested on a Seminole County warrant for violating his probation on a drug charge. Mraz was found in his cell unresponsive after reportedly using a bed sheet in an apparent suicide attempt.

“Detention deputies quickly rendered aid and Mraz was transported to the hospital,” Herrell added.

The incident remains under investigation, however, deputies say they have not found anything suspicious at this time.
