Lake County to host annual State of the County

TAVARES  The Lake County Board of County Commissioners will present its annual State of the County event at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 5 in the County Commission Chambers of the Lake County Administration Building, located at 315 W. Main St., Tavares.

The presentation titled “A Positive Vision” will highlight the achievements and events of the commission during the fiscal year 2017, including Hurricane Irma response and recovery, budget efficiencies, public safety enhancements, economic development, tourism marketing initiatives and quality of life enhancements, to name a few.

The State of the County video presentation will begin promptly at 9 a.m., followed by the induction of South Lake historian and Pulitzer Prize-nominated writer Doris Bloodsworth into the Women’s Hall of Fame.

A brief intermission with refreshments will follow and a regularly scheduled County Commission meeting will take place after the intermission.
