Lake County Closes Shelter, Emergency Operations Status Lowered to Level 2

LAKE COUNTY – Lake County officials announced that the Emergency Operations status has been downgraded to a Level 2 – Partial Activation.

All Lake County shelters were closed Friday at 5:00 pm. The Citizens Information Line will remain open overnight for anyone who needs emergency information. Residents can call (352)253-9999 to reach the Information Line.

Officials are asking that anyone who experienced any damage to fill out a damage report online to receive quick assistance to assess the damages.

Residents needing permits will be able to reach the Building Services’ Permitting Office by phone on Saturday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Trash collection for household trash, recycling, and yard waste will resume Saturday at 8:00 am. Residents are recommended to keep their trash cans in a secure place until 6:00 am Saturday morning to avoid being affected by any wind. The Central Landfill Facility and convenience centers will be open on Saturday as well.
