Human Remains Found Behind Jackson Hewitt in Leesburg

LEESBURG – Leesbrug Police and Lake County CSI are currently investigating a scene behind Jackson Hewitt located on Highway 441 where authorities say they discovered the remains of an unidentified person.

Police received a call Friday afternoon around 4:00 pm.

According to Leesburg Police Lt. Joe Iozzi, the remains appear to have been there for quite some time which will delay the identification process.

The scene is still under investigation, however, Iozzi stated that preliminary appearance does not indicate any criminal activity.
