OCALA — Updated information has been released by the Ocala Police Department regarding a structure fire at Macy’s mid-morning Tuesday.
The fire began in the women’s apparel section of Macy’s department store. The mall was evacuated while multiple fire units responded.
According to surveillance video, the suspect entered the store around 10:11 a.m. and left at 10:55 a.m.
Fire rescue was called shortly after, but the store’s sprinkler system had activated and the fire was out when crews arrived.
Reports to Ocala Star-Banner say a witness saw the woman identified in the surveillance’s videos ran from the store holding a dress without a bag.
The picture was given to officials and now the Ocala Police Department is asking for help to identify the suspected arsonist.
