Fatal Motorcycle Crash on SR 54

Pasco County –  The Florida Highway Patrol reported a fatal crash involving a motorcycle on State Road 54 at the intersection of Mitchell Ranch Road the evening of Saturday, October 14.

Trooper Brown of the Florida Highway Patrol stated in his report that Steven Gerena of Brandon was traveling eastbound on his motorcycle with passenger Trudy Gerena when he lost control on a left curve of the road. The motorcycle hit a northbound vehicle, which had been stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of Mitchell Ranch Road and SR 54. Both Steven Gerena and Trudy Gerena were reported dead at the scene. The driver of the second vehicle is reported to be in serious condition at North Pinellas Hospital.
