Fatal Golf Cart Accident Claims Villages Resident

THE VILLAGES – According to Florida Highway Patrol reports, 77-year-old Stephen Sanchez was the victim of a fatal golf cart accident Monday morning just before 11:00 am.

Reports state that Sanchez was driving his 2016 Atomi Golf Cart across US Highway 441 headed west on Bella Cruz Drive when a 1998 Dodge Ram pickup truck traveling south on US Highway 441 struck the golf cart in the intersection.

Sanchez was transported to the Villages Regional Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead as a result of the injuries sustained during the accident.

As of the time of this report, no arrest has been made, however, charges are pending against the driver of the pickup, 27-year-old Sean Patrick Donovan.
