Early Morning Accident Causes Delays on Citrus Boulevard in Leesburg

LEESBURG – An accident that occurred early Friday morning on Citrus Boulevard (Hwy 441) in front of Wells Fargo caused traffic delays for commuters traveling southbound.

Traffic heading southbound on Hwy 441 was redirected down Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Blvd. and through the Aldi’s Parking lot.

The accident involved a white Ford Mustang, a blue motorcycle, and a dark gray Chevy SUV.

According to a witness, a white Ford Mustang was traveling northbound on Hwy 441 when it crossed over the median and headed into oncoming traffic in the southbound lanes causing a collision with the SUV and motorcycle.

The accident is still under investigation and police are still on the scene. More information will be made available as soon as it is released.
