Deputies Seek Help Identifying Possible Vehicle Burglary Suspects

LEESBURG, Fla. — Lake County deputies are asking for help from residents in identifying a suspect caught on camera allegedly attempting to burglarize vehicles in the Bassville Park area of Leesburg.

According to a post on the Lake County Sheriff’s Instagram account, the above-pictured suspect was caught on a resident’s surveillance camera attempting to break into a vehicle.

Deputies stated the suspect in the surveillance video was accompanied by 4 other suspects.

The video shows the suspect wearing a light-colored hoodie and a backpack as he/she walks down the road just before walking onto a resident’s property and pulling out a flashlight to look inside the homeowner’s vehicle.

The suspect, after realizing the vehicle was locked, left the property and continued walking down the street.

Deputies are asking for help in identifying the suspect in the video and ask that anyone with information contact Detective Jamie Getford at (352) 343-9529 or submit a tip anonymously by calling the Central Florida Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS.
