Citrus County Deputies and SWAT Members Launch Manhunt for Armed Suspect

HOMOSASSA, Fla.¬†— Deputies and SWAT members with the Citrus County Sheriff’s Department launched a manhunt for an armed suspect Thursday morning in Homosassa in the Park Drive area according to a department spokesperson.

Officials began their search in several wooded areas and abandoned homes near West Cardinal Street and Park Drive for an armed suspect described as a white male in his mid-40s with tattoos on his right arm.

The suspect was last seen wearing a bluish-gray shirt, blue jeans, and has white or gray facial hair.

Residents in the surrounding areas were warned using the Alert Citrus notification system to stay in their homes and lock their doors.

Anyone who may have seen someone matching the description is asked to not approach the suspect and to call 911 immediately.

Other residents who may be traveling are asked to avoid the area until further notice.
