Astatula man killed in early Saturday morning wreck, identified

LAKE COUNTY, Fla. — An Astatula man was killed early Saturday morning when his pick-up truck veered off the road and struck a tree.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, 26-year-old Cody Johnson, was driving a 2008 Nissan, west on State Road 46 near the intersection of Colfax Avenue around 4:10 a.m., when “for unknown reasons,” he lost control of the truck.

The report adds the truck then hit an electric box before it overturned onto its side and the roof struck a tree.

Johnson died at the scene.
